Playing With Burlap

Here is a peak at one of the new cushion cover designs I have been working on...
(in between my walk-in-pantry remodel., which hopefully will be finished next week!)

Combining the beautiful grey & flax linen toile with the rustic elegance of burlap, that was very popular
with my Christmas stockings last year.

I have also added a hand-embroidered cross stitch monogram in soft grey.

I am really pleased at the soft yet elegant design of this cover. It
would be at home in a variety of decorating styles - French, Scandinavian,
Farmhouse, Shabby....

I've been slowly editing all of the cushions in our home.
I've been replacing the patterns & colours for more soft & simple designs.
Paring down and simplifying - creating a more relaxed space to live.

This one is for sale now at my Etsy shop - personalised to the initial of your choice.

Have a wonderful week

Love Pendant Lights

A lazy Sunday morning, cup of tea in hand, browsing the internet for some pendant lighting
inspirations for my walk-in-pantry.

I adore the shape & finish of this light, unfortunately they don't ship to Australia :(

Similar in shape but in more of an antique zinc colour is this one...

For a more rustic look, reminiscent of vintage milk cans...

Another style I love are these wire pendant lights. I have seen them in a lot of magazines lately, sold
as a set of five. Don't they look stunning together?

But they are also available as a single light! I'm so excited
this is the one I will be ordering...

Which would be your preference? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Till next time, have a great weekend

Pantry Inspirations

I have been busy cleaning, organising & re-organising my kitchen space for
the past week. Everything has been moved to new & more practical locations.
Much to the dismay of my family who can no longer find anything!

New canisters have been ordered from Donna Hay's General Store.

The walk-in-pantry will have three upper shelves with timber moulding &
beadboard backing all painted white.

via Roman Hudson - a gorgeous kitchen makeover

We are having to build a built-in lower storage unit, due to the width of the space being
too narrow for many of the ready made units.

Taking inspiration from Susan's Homeroad blog with her stunning Ikea cart makeover,
I'm going to stain & distress the cabinet top and add some vintage graphics as well.

I'm still deciding between using slats for the bottom two shelves or using regular flat shelving.
I am imagining baskets or wine crates along the bottom shelf.
Any ideas?
